Why do Asbestos Management Surveys need to be completed?

An Asbestos Management Survey is the first step towards compliance under Regulation 4 of the Control of Asbestos Regulations (2012) for non-domestic premises.

In order to effectively manage asbestos, you will need to know where it is, the extent and type of asbestos and the condition it is in. An Asbestos Management Survey will provide this information.

Legal responsibilities surrounding asbestos include:

Identifying ACMs
Assuming ACMs are present in areas that cannot be accessed and managing these accordingly
Undertaking remedial work to remove or contain any dangerous ACMs
